I grew up in rural Wisconsin, on my parent’s cow/calf operation. I showed cattle, swine and sheep through 4-H and FFA. Started college at UW-Platteville and transferred to Western Illinois University and judged under Dr. Mark Hoge. I traveled the U.S. with my judging team until my time of graduation. I received my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in large animal nutrition. Post graduation, I got a job with an animal nutrition and forage treatment company called Agri-King. I work with dairies and feedlots, offering full nutrition consulting. I also bought into the beef farm, where we are up to 250 cows that calve in the spring and fall. We sell a few as show cattle, sell some as feeders, or we feed them out ourselves. If I’m not busy doing either I help with custom hay work during the summer. I’m excited to come down and sort some livestock in the great state of Arizona and appreciate the invite. Thank you!
First of all, it is a pleasure to be asked to judge your 2019 Pinal county Fair Sheep and Goat Show. I have been involved in the livestock industry since I was born. My grandfather raised sheep for 30 plus years, before retiring and selling out to my parents. Currently, my husband, Tyler, and I raise Registered Southdown’s. Along with being in the Sheep Industry, I was raised on an Angus Cattle Ranch in the small town of Tupelo, OK. I have shown sheep and goats since the age of 2, with my greatest achievement being named Grand Champion Doe Goat at the Oklahoma Youth Expo. I have had numerous championships with my show stock animals, and I am fortunate enough to still be involved in the industry through numerous outlets.
Currently, I live in Cairo OK with my husband, our Poodles, mini and toy Australian Shepherds, Showdowns, and Angus Cattle. I graduated from Murray State College in Tishomingo, OK with my Associates of Science Degree and then went on to get my Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Finance from East Central University in Ada, OK. I have my teaching certifications in Business CareerTech Business, and Agriculture Education, and I am now working at the Kiamichi Technology Centers as a Business and Marketing Instructor. Thank you again for this opportunity to judge your Fair.
I was a member of the 1998 National Champion Livestock Judging Team for Kansas State University. While attending college I also served on the National Junior Hereford Board. I have been in the registered seed stock business my entire life and have shown competitively at most major shows. I have judged shows for over 20 years across the United States, including the Ft. Worth Stock Show, the American Royal, and Belt Buckle Bonanza. I feel comfortable judging all species.
